In partnerships we tend to become relaxed. And when people get relaxed they sometimes get, for want of a better word, sloppy. What you need to do is put some space between your ex and you. Then your priority should be to work on becoming the person your ex first fell for. Actually if you work out a plan and get it right you can become better than you were back then.
